About Reclaim Fitness

About Me

My name is Season Hathaway. I grew up playing sports, tumbling, dancing and happily stumbling through life. Then, came my first birth and postpartum experience. It was extremely difficult to say the least. Suddenly, my body wasn't my own. I had experience in collegiate soccer and track and field, a childhood of gymnastics and dance- and yet, I was left wholly unprepared for the physical and emotional toll that is parenthood.

Also very suddenly, my eyes were opened to the lack of support available to people with birthing bodies. There is very little helpful information about the changes our bodies experience during the perinatal experience. Much of what is available focuses solely on aesthetic changes and perpetuates the harmful expectations that society places on us and our bodies.

Out of this experience, I was inspired to obtain my NASM Personal Trainer Certification as well as a Mommastrong certification in training pre and postnatal bodies. I then set out to create Reclaim Fitness. I wanted to empower women and those with birthing bodies with knowledge about their bodies. I wanted to be a kind, supportive voice encouraging people to give their bodies the space, time and movements needed to recover and build strength and resilience.

About Reclaim Fitness

As suggested in the name, Reclaim Fitness was created to reclaim what the word "fitness" means to each of us. "Fitness" and "health" does not look like one thing, one movement, one gender or one body type. Especially amongst women and birthing bodies, it is time that we reclaim this space, these words so that they serve and strengthen us.

At Reclaim Fitness our goals include:
